The Last Trip

Newspaper La Unión and Article 19

A True Story that Moved a Whole Country

To Seek Justice, We Brought Back to Life a Journalist Who Died in Impunity.
2024 Cannes Lions Bronze Winner

Mexico is the second most dangerous country in the world for journalism. From 2000 to 2024, over 163 journalists have been murdered, with Veracruz leading in reported and unsolved cases. Society has normalized these numbers, but Grey, La Union newspaper, and Article 19 wanted to vindicate and humanize the position of journalists in Mexican society.

In Mexico, True Stories Surpass Fiction

Famous

Grey created a film about a true story, with astonishing storytelling and meticulous craft, that went beyond the screen and touched an entire society. Portraying the danger that journalists in Mexico experience, the film became a means to demand justice for hundreds of journalists who, like our protagonist Moisés Sánchez, have died in impunity.
