The Most Devasting Side of Acapulco

Hurricane

Emotional Hurricanes Have Great Power to Destroy.

When Hurricane Otis hit the coast of Acapulco it destroyed everything in its path—including homes, the electric grid, water service, hospitals, airports, and all essential infrastructure. And yet that devasting storm is not the most damaging force to affect the area. Working with Reinserta, an NGO that focuses on creating a safer future for children and adolescents, Grey created a campaign to illuminate the sad fact that for many, the life-destroying force wasn’t Otis, but one far stronger and more relentless: child violence, suffered by more than 60% of children in Mexico.

Helping Prevent Unnatural Disasters

Famously Effective

“Hurricane” tells the story of two young girls who appear to be sheltering from Hurrican Otis but, as they run upstairs and under a bed, are revealed to be protecting themselves from a sexual abuser. Viewers are asked to help Reinserta help the children rebound from both tragedies, in part by rebuilding the shelter where 100 abused girls rebuilt their lives.
