Tim Malone joins Grey Africa as the HOD of Grey Health. Tim has extensive healthcare experience which he has gained in London, the Middle East and South Africa. His extensive knowledge of the industry will play a vital in growing the healthcare business, building stronger relationships with clients and developing new business opportunities.

Tim’s journey in healthcare started at BBDO Medical in Johannesburg, he then moved to London where he worked for Paling Ellis KPR. Upon his return to South Africa, Tim worked for Grey Healthcare as the Creative Director for five years. Tim opened his own agency specialising in healthcare and worked with companies such as Sanofi-Synthelabo, Roche, Boehringer-Mannheim and Reckitt-Benckiser. The agency was sold in 2000. “I do not think there is a stronger global healthcare agency than Grey. I am really excited about partnering with clients to produce ‘famously effective’ work that connects with the target audience” Tim said.

Tim has won numerous awards both locally and internationally, including the Rx Club of New York, Loeries, South African Medical Association/IMM, Clio Healthcare Awards and IPA Best Health Awards in the UK. Tim has a Masters Degree in Leading Innovation and Change at York St John University in the UK. As a result of this Masters Degree, Tim ventured into Education where he lectured in advertising, marketing and brand management at Diploma and Degree levels.

“Tim’s appointment is part of our strategy as Grey Africa to employ the highest calibre employees that fully understand the business and contribute holistically to the growth of the entire agency. We look forward to making continued headway into the healthcare industry and creating famously effective work for this dynamic sector of our industry,” adds Grey Africa MD, Paul Jackson.

An avid rugby and motorsport fan, Tim is excited about his homecoming. “I spent almost ten years at Grey in the 90s. Although the agency is very different now, one thing that has not changed is the incredibly friendly and supportive attitudes of the staff” concludes Tim.
