“We knew that being competitive wasn’t enough. We had to be compelling” said Paul Jackson, Grey Africa Group MD, following a pitch process that started in late 2015 and concluded at the end of February, with Neopak announcing Grey Africa’s appointment as its digital communications partner for both South Africa and the African continent.
“We recognised Neopak, as a robust and reputable packaging market leader, with its success based on driving innovation, manufacturing excellence and customer orientation. Neopak’s forward looking philosophy is to not only be a leading packaging supplier, but rather a supply chain solutions provider that offers cutting edge products to move and grow their customer’s brands” said Jackson.
The Independent Agency Search and Selection Company (IAS), who managed the selection process, whittled down the initial 22 agencies in the RFI process, down to 9 in the chemistry phase and eventually selected 4 making it to the final round with the Neopak executive team. After 3 months of courting, Grey was left as the last man standing.
Nikki Munsie from IAS, acknowledging the achievement, congratulated Team Grey on their appointment saying; “we were delighted that Neopak decided to appoint Grey as their Digital agency after what was an extensive and excellent final pitch presentation.”
Craig Platt, the Marketing Manager of Neopak said they were thrilled with the appointment of Grey saying: “we are very excited to be working with Grey and their appointment was based on overall chemistry and an excellent fit between the two teams. We believe that Grey’s business solutions approach to digital marketing and their extensive experience in Africa were the reasons for the appointment!”
