    GREY AFRICA ANNOUNCES THREE NEW APPOINTMENTS

    Grey Africa is proud to announce the promotions of Huibri Schalkwyk to PR and Social Business Unit Director, and Charlene Olivier to Shopper Creative Director. Grey Africa also welcomes Solly Mafa as a Web Developer.

    Promotion: Huibri Schalkwyk

    PR & Social Business Unit Director, Grey Africa 

    Grey Africa is delighted to announce the appointment of Huibri Schalkwyk to the position of PR & Social Business Unit Director.

    To date, Huibri has been PR Account Director of Grey Africa. With over eight years' experience in PR, social media and design she has worked on publicising a selection of leading brands such as the Nelson Mandela Square, Nando's, Peppadew, Sodastream and Without Masks (Cuban Art Exhibition) and just to name a few.

    Huibri studied Corporate Communications at the University of Johannesburg and then earned an honours degree in Visual Communications at Vega specialising in Design and she has an innate love for social media.

    Moving up from her position as PR Account Director of Grey Africa, in her new role, Huibri will now take full responsibility for managing the PR and Social teams, directing all respective operations, overseeing strategies for Grey's current and potential clients including Dulux Paints, Tabasco, Consol Glass, Gillette, Venus, Car Track, Power Optimal, Nespresso, Volvo, Pantene and Tudor watches. 

     

    Promotion: Charlene Olivier

    Creative Director (Shopper Marketing), Grey Africa 

    Grey Africa is proud to announce Charlene Olivier as the newly appointed Creative Director of the rapidly expanding Grey Shopper division.

    Charlene has a proven track record of being a successful, solutions-driven creative with a passion for experiential collaboration. Her career started in 1999 with studies in America, where she qualified in Visual Communication followed by further specialisation in Design from the AAA School of Advertising.

    Following that, she has sailed the high seas of design and traditional art direction and journeyed into the unchartered waters of modern integrated communications, covering everything from digital to shopper marketing.

    Charlene's days are filled with through-the-line creative adventures and a range of brand-building communications activities for major Grey clients such as Cartrack, Tabasco, CSIR, FNB, Consol, P&G and Volvo.

    "I'm inspired by a variety of creative opportunities and a wide array of possibilities - from cooking, to music, art and architecture," says Charlene.

    "My passion is to support all things creative within the agency, with a focus on growing the Grey shopper marketing division. The exciting shopper world lends itself to many new and stimulating opportunities, which my team and I intend to continue exploring, helping to make the shopper experience as much fun and as rewarding as possible," she concludes. 

     

    New Appointment: Solly Mafa

    Solly Mafa joins Grey Africa as Web Developer 

    Grey Africa is pleased to announce the appointment of Solly Mafa as a new Web Developer. Solly has joined the agency's rapidly expanding digital team and will contribute to Grey Africa's increasing digital offerings to both existing and new clients throughout the region.

    Solly's qualifications include a National Diploma in Information Technology specialising in Web and Applications Development obtained from the Tshwane University of Technology.

    With over five years of web and applications development experience he has conceptualised and developed work for major clients in various industries including Quest, Anova Health, Fallen Heroes, Jobmail and Junkmail Publishing.

    "As one of the full stack developers, I specialise in back-end developing, on the server side of web programming, but I can also fluently 'speak' the front-end languages that control how content looks on the client's side" says Solly.

    Solly will be responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites from layout to function, ensuring visually appealing sites that ensure user-friendly design and clear navigation and will be working closely with Francois du Preez, Grey Africa's Digital Creative Director.

    "I'm very excited to join such an incredible network and look forward to making a real contribution by bringing valuable input to the Grey Africa digital team that will help distinguish Grey's ground-breaking and famously effective solutions for our clients.”
