In July 2016, Leo was appointed CEO of Grey London. He was tasked with sustaining the agency’s momentum and industry-leading creativity at Grey to continue the incredible trajectory the agency had been on. In the following 18 months since Leo’s appointment, Grey London has gone from strength-to-strength; winning the coveted M&S business and creating the Most-Loved Christmas advert for them with Paddington Bear.
Launching two planning departments into award-winning destinations and founding a social media enterprise is no mean feat, but prior to his appointment to CEO, Leo spent the previous 18 years rising through strategy roles at some of the industry’s leading agencies most recently holding the title of Chief Strategy Officer for Grey EMEA.
Leo’s belief that open, diverse cultures lead to the very best creative thinking can be seen in the very makeup of the agency here today. Leo has driven significant development both in Grey’s own makeup – particularly at senior level, with the appointment of a 60% female xecutive leadership team and in the wider industry, founding of the Valenstein&Fatt diversity initiative launched in 2017 to help increase diversity within advertising.
A regular contributor to trade and consumer titles, Leo has been featured on the BBC, Sky and ITN to name but a few. In 2018, Leo also appeared before the House of Lords Select Committee on the Creative Industries sharing opinions on issues facing the creative industry both here in the UK and further afield.
